Looking at the Newaire and GMC side by side there can be no doubt that the GMC provided significant inspiration for the Newaire. If you read the page on the REMCO chassis, you will discover that it was deliberately made to improve on the GMC chassis. The REMCO chassis was foundation for what would become the Newaire.
